Dentures can be a great way to replace missing teeth and provide you with the functionality and smile that you’ve been looking for. At Janz Family Dental, we offer partial dentures used to replace one or several teeth as well as full or complete dentures which are used to replace your entire upper or lower row of teeth.
When you only have one or several teeth missing, a partial denture may be used to fill in the gaps. A partial denture is also used to hold a bridge in place. Made up of one or more artificial teeth, partial dentures clasp onto nearby natural teeth to be held in place. These dentures are removable and allow for easier cleaning. With partial dentures, you can chew and bite and have better functionality overall of your smile. Additionally, partial dentures help fill in the gap left by lost teeth and therefore provide a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
The process to create partial dentures starts by taking impressions of your teeth. After one to two weeks, your partial denture will be ready.
Often referred to as “false teeth,” complete or full dentures are used when all your natural teeth are missing in either the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. Not only do complete dentures provide aesthetic benefits by giving you back your smile, but they improve the overall function of your smile. Chewing, biting, and even talking are made easier with dentures. These dentures are also removable for cleaning and stay in place thanks to suction.
To create your complete dentures, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth. Within one or two weeks, your dentures should be ready for insertion. If you need to have your teeth extracted before you receive your dentures, we will have you come in for an appointment for the impression, and when the time comes to insert the dentures, we will have your teeth extracted beforehand.
